Marginal Gains is a secure web application built on the Open Education AI standard datalake. We host this for you so you don't need to worry about infrastructure or licences. Working with the OEAI community we have built clever features using generative AI to cut down workload and provide actionable insights. This transforms the Datalake into a complete decision support system for schools and school groups.
The theory of marginal gains was popularised by Dave Brailsford and the British Cycling Team. He believed that if you make a 1% improvement in a host of tiny areas, the cumulative benefits would be remarkable.
This is true in education also - research demonstrates both the individual impacts on academic outcomes for every 1% improvement in school attendance, and more broadly through societal impact of the same to GDP, health, policing and wider citizen services.
What if we could make similar marginal, week on week improvements, to student wellbeing and safeguarding? A small percentage improvement to budgets through effective SEN allocations, capital projects success, or cost reduction through integrated curriculum financial planning? At the same time, term on term improvements in academic outcomes, destinations, staff recruitment or retention?
